Winner, 2008 Dimon Distinguished
Dear Goldblatt Community, Greetings and Welcome to what promises to be an exciting school year! The faculty and staff of Goldblatt look forward to yet another year filled with awesome learning opportunities and continuous growth and achievement. We know you are eager to begin your instructional journey and trust you will strive for the best in all that you do. Our expectation is that every student reaches his/her maximum potential and we commit to delivering high quality instruction to ensure the success of every child. As always, we need you, our parents, to assist in all our endeavors. We hope to see you throughout the year as we partner to further the education of our children. Again, welcome to the new school year, and remember, it takes a great start in order to have a strong finish!
Goldblatt is Focused on Instruction! Parents ask your child(ren) to explain the Instructional Focus (Focus Skill) to you. In preparation for ISAT, Goldblatt students will continue to concentrate on a specific focus skill that is essential to reading success and critical thinking. Please discuss each Instructional Focus (Focus Skill) with your child and work with him/her at home. Be sharp, as the focus will change weekly!
In preparation for the ISAT, Goldblatt will sponsor a student Pep Rally on Friday, February 26, 2010. Dimon Distinguished Community School Award Winner! On June 2, 2008, The Federation for Community Schools recognized and honored Goldblatt Elementary School as a Dimon Distinguished Community School Award Winner. Only ten schools received this award in recognition of their work in implementing the community school model to its fullest and for meeting student, family, and community needs. We are very proud of this award. Kudos to Ms. Jamison (after school coordinator) and our community schools partner: CCASP. For more information visit: http://www.ilcommunityschools.org/default.asp
